Why'd he go into the girl's restroom???
Also Ayumi hearing Conan and Haibara talking about drugs and shrinking from the next stall over

Genta has a pretty strong grip strength to be hanging on to that rope with the weight of Ayumi and Mitsuhiko on him while swaying, for that long.
Okay, when will they let this poor boy down, he's been hanging on ages now

How'd Haibara get into the AC room and be able to actually change it, so easily?

Ok but wouldn't someone have noticed the black cut and the out of focus bit (that they even mentioned) when he switched the projection to the other window?? Yeah I get there were more pressing issues, but SOMEONE had to see that. And also how'd the guy manage to set up the mirrors in the exact spot without like seeing where it's projecting, and how'd he even know they were the correct sizes to fit the whole projection? And are they really sure some slightly stronger ac would be able to push an entire adult body. A little unsure on this one...

The rest of the kids having fun while Conan and Haibara are just sitting there completely straight faced.

remember this is a 1999 episode, theater technology wasn't as advanced as it is today. most theaters today use prisms and reflecting technology, along with digital auto-focusing, not an actual lens shooting the image straight out of a plain glass window.

i remember when i was a kid, about every other movie i went to in the 1990's the projectionist had to adjust the focus at least once while the previews were running before the movie started. so folks back then would just barely notice the fairy girl was out of focus after the dead guy's shadow showed up.

also, that 'cut movie' was STANDARD back then. considering the frames per second, the size of the frames, and the length -in time- of movies, two to THREE reels of film were needed for a standard 90 minute movie. THAT is why 2 cameras were in the projection room, NOT rewinding.

the 1st reel would be on camera one, the 2nd reel would be on camera two. at a set time camera one would be showing parts of the film near the end of reel 1, at the same time camera two is starting up THE SAME IMAGES at the BEGINNING of its reel 2. at the exact same time, within seconds, camera 1 would turn the 'bulb' OFF inside itself and camera 2 would turn the 'bulb' ON inside itself. if the projectionist was skilled, the focus for both cameras was dead on and the timing of the switch was seamless.

then, the projectionist would REMOVE the filled reel 1 and put it in A SPECIAL REEL TO REEL MACHINE that was not a projector. all you need is two pivot points for the empty and full reels to spin on, something to gap the pivots to provide minimal tension to the film in-between the reels, and an electric motor to spin the empty reel once the film was attached.

he's an expert projectionist with years of experience. he probably tested his 'trick' out in the theater while it was closed.

oh yes, you've never stood in-front of a 1990's HVAC singular exhaust port before? instead of vents everywhere in the room with ducting directing the air into and through the vents, those older units had various ports in one location blowing air around the room with directional fins. depending on how many CUBIC FEET of air that single room holds... it would require a serious amount of 'horse-power' in the blower-motor to move the air around.

You're so right, I completely forgot this show took place in the 90s and would have different tech.. But man I didn't know like the majority of that stuff, it was really cool! Makes me like this episode even more knowing the trick is possible!! Thanks again!
